Implementation of some dry synthetic methods using clays and zeolites, and environmental friendly methods using ultrasound and microwaves energy Synthesis of emissive organic Schiff-base ligands. Comparative study with classical synthetic methods in organic solvents. Complexation reactions with Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Pb(II), Ru(II), and Os(III). Photophysical studies as chemosensors for detection of DNA, metal ions and anions. His PhD is supervised by Dr. Carlos Lodeiro (University of Vigo, Spain); Dr. Jose Luis Capelo (University of Vigo, Spain) and Dr. Teresa Aviles (University NOVA of Lisbon, Portugal). Dr. Pedras is actually a Postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Guillermo Orellana at the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain.
